About Tonecut

Tonecut turns the sound from a video into an MP3 or a ringtone in a few taps. It is a Get Found By Bots, LLC property.

How it works

When you choose a video, your browser decodes its sound track. You pick the part you want, and Tonecut encodes it as an MP3, or as an AAC .m4r file for iPhone. All of this runs on your own device. Your video is never uploaded, and we never see it.

Before handing you an iPhone ringtone, Tonecut plays the file back with your device’s own audio decoder, the same one the phone uses for ringtones. If that check fails, you get an MP3 instead of a file that won’t work.

How it’s funded

Tonecut is free and supported by ads. We keep them away from the buttons you use and never make you watch one to get your file. See the privacy policy for how ads use cookies.
